MAY 9, 2008 NEW CANDIDATE FOR THE LOCKERRIDGE HALL OF FOOLISH FAME

MAY 9, 2008 NEW CANDIDATE FOR THE
Photobucket
LOCKERRIDGE HALL OF FOOLISH FAME
My friend Jae Elle sent these photographs to me in an email and I just had to share this guy, and his lack of intelligence with those who read my stuff...
If you have been with me for a while you know I collect these kinds of pictures, and then I make a slide show of the latest and greatest candidate for the Lockerridge Hall Of Foolish Fame. Then we all pick the winner. I would have waited to put this guy in there, but this is just too stinking dumb for words.. had to share it today!
Thankyou very much Jae Elle.. your one of my oldest and dearest, and you always think of me don't you? I sure will be glad when I can leave a comment on your blogs again!
The following pictures and text were taken directly from the email.
I have put the holder of the copyright to the pictures name on them, so if you want to use them please don't forget to give him the credit for them. Although he put them into an email and sent them out so.. he probably knows we will spread them all around the globe within an hour of his posting them huh? lol..
Now cut that out.. I am not evil.. I just sound that way.. a lot!
Grand Canyon Photographer....
He took his full dose of stupid pills that day!
Photobucket
This is a case of a photographer photographing another photographer. The following pictures were taken by Hans van de Vorst from the Netherlands, at the Grand Canyon, Arizona. The descriptions are his. The identity of the photographer in the photos is unknown.
I was simply stunned seeing this guy standing on this solitary rock in the Grand Canyon.

The canyon's depth is 900 meters here. The rock on the right is next to the canyon and safe.

Watching this guy on his thong sandals, with a camera and a tripod I asked myself 3 questions:

1. How did he climb that rock?

2. Why not take that sunset picture from that rock to the right, which is perfectly safe?

3. How will he get back?

After the sun set behind the canyon's horizon he packed his things (having only one hand available) and prepared himself for the jump. This took about 2 minutes. At that point he had the full attention of the crowd.

Photobucket

This is the point of no return.
After that, he jumped on his thong sandals...
Photobucket

The canyon's depth is 900 meters (3,000 feet) here.
Photobucket
Now you can see that the adjacent rock is higher so he tried to land lower, which is quite steep and tried to use his one hand to grab the rock.
Look carefully at the photographer. He has a camera, a tripod and also a plastic bag, all on his shoulder or in his left hand. Only his right hand is available to grab the rock and the weight of his stuff is a problem. He lands low on his flip flops, both his right hand and right foot slip away... At that moment I take this shot. He pushes his body against the rock. He waits for a few seconds, throws his stuff on the rock, climbs and walks away, presumably to a bathroom to change his shorts. I know I had to change mine and I was just watching!!
BIG LOCKERRIDGE AMEN!!!! TO THE SHORTS CHANGING!

MAY 8, 2008 HERBIE THE HUNCHMASTER

MAY 8, 2008
HERBIE THE HUNCHMASTER
Photobucket
Meet Herbie, the newest in my family of "it followed me home and I kept it" critters. Actually he didn't follow me home, but rather I found him and his mom and a brother and two sisters on the side of the road up by Homers Mom and Dads. Yeah, he is a victim of dog dumping. It happens a lot around here on the dirt roads in the mountains.
On a trip to see the folks back in January, we were tooling down the road... Homer, as usual, was driving by radar ( you know.. like a bat.. only his blindness comes from the fact he never watches the road, has two hands on his binoculars, and uses his knee to steer ) and had the binoculars trained on the woods looking for anything that moved...( like he might jump out and wrestle dinner to the ground ) when on my side of the truck I saw this little black thing running up the road.
Trying to get a better look, I rolled down the window and stuck my head out.. big mistake.. limb hit me right in the face.. sigh.. I took the proper steps to ensure the driver was paying attention and looked again. It was this little bitty black puppy and of course.. I just couldn't let it go.. Homer was with me 100 %.. he has grown up doing doggy rescue missions all his life.
So we stopped and I got out and called to it.. and out of the woods came his Mom and three siblings.. I walked up to her and she was sooo glad to see me! I checked her out and I was immediately so damn mad I would have done bodily harm to the evil person who dumped her out with those puppies.. her toenails where white and clean .. not ragged.. she had white hair and it was clean.. she even was flea free! In other words.. a house dog.
It was getting down into the teens in temperature at night, and some subhuman had dumped her and those puppies out to freeze to death! She had no idea how to hunt for them at all!
We were going to a birthday party at Homers folks and I knew better than to try to take those dogs up there with all the dogs they already have.. especially Zip the Wonder Dog and a blue heeler named Rambo ... nope not a good idea.. unless you like watching dog fights.
I took the puppies up into the woods a little way off of the road, and of course she followed me. I put them under a bush, and told her to stay there, and I would be back and get them, in a little while.. not to worry I was going to help her, and her kids get someplace warm , with some good food from a sack, bought at the store.
Yes, I know.. I talk to them just like they were people.. hey! how do we know they don't understand what we say to them.. they may be the ones with universal language brain waves or something like that.
When we went back down that road 2 hours later, and stopped, they were right where I left them.. I patted my leg and they all came over to the truck and she jumped right in.. I put the puppies on the seat beside her and she just laid down and went to sleep with a big ole sigh.. See they do understand what we say.. cause I am not Dr. Doolittle.
Well, Homer says I don't do much, but he doesn't count! heheheeh!
Took them and put them in the ulility room off the carport at the house, I have one of those little electric heaters I use in there to keep the washing machine water hookups from freezing and paper on the floor.. They devoured half a loaf of bread and 4 cans of dog food, and drank so much I knew I was in for a mess to clean up the next day..
More than I had thought I would have to clean up.. momma dog tore the door all to pieces.. it had a vent in the bottom and she got out that way... sigh.. at least she didn't do her doo doo thing in the room, her kids now... how they managed to get it on the walls is beyond me, but they did...!
I went with what she had started and made a doggie door out of plastic sheeting where the vent had been, so she could go in and out when she wanted to.. the kids couldn't jump that high .. right then anyway.. sigh.. .. what a mess!
Days turned into months and we managed to give away three of the puppies and momma dog met with some bad luck and now I have a two doggie graves in the backyard.. but such is life.
Prissy, my other dog , who is a product of a visit to Walmart and this woman with a cardboard box at the door, ( she knew what she was doing.. must of been an experienced dog giver awayer) pulled out a ball of fuzz and shoved it at me.. yeah.. I was a goner.. Prissy my Walmart Parking Lot Pooch.. has been with me for around 8 years now and Herbie thinks she is the most wonderful thing he has ever had the pleasure of torturing in his young life. He started out by being just tall enough to jump and nip at her mouth every time she stopped and he spotted her, now he is tall enough he does these acrobatic moves where he can jump completely over her head in this hopping figure eight kind of thing...
She has figured out that to just keep on walking.. he gets fouled up my her feet sometimes, and goes flying, then jumps back up to do it all over again.. hehehe..
He has this piece of rug that I put into their barrel they sleep in that he plays with.. one day I looked outside and he had torn a hole in it and it was around his neck and back like a cape.. hehehee.. Super Herbie!
Prissy was not impressed.....
Prissy is still chasing Leon the walnut bomber squirrel, and Herbie is going along for the experience I suppose... hehehe.. I don't think he has any kind of hunting skills from gene makeup to work off of to start with. But he is all for the joy of the chase.. he has food from a sack from the store.. who needs it on the hoof!
He has one truly redeeming quality.. he doesn't know that snakes can be mean I guess.. he has saved me twice now from grabbing one while I was pulling weeds out of a flowerbed.. he is a pest usually when I try to work outside.. if I pull up grass and dump it over the fence.. he goes and brings it back to me.. heheh.. and he wants to dig in the dirt too.. it would be nice if he would just not dig in the dirt where there is a flower planted... but he did grab two little grass snakes right beside my hands. After he played with them a while.. he ate the things! ewwwww!
All I know is .. as long as he doesn't bring them to the house for a keepsake or a new friend.. he can eat 'em all day long!
Lately he has turned the corner out of puppyhood into adolescence.. and has been practicing his moves to become a real hounddog some day and get a girlfriend.. you can see him at all times of the day.. practicing on fence posts.. tall rocks... the trash barrel, he tried to get Prissy to be his practice dummy .. but he gets the his directions mixed up and ends up on her head.. she does not think that this is a very fun activity and after talking quite a long time with the young gigilo want to be and a few well places nips.. he has decided that maybe it would be better to find a fence post .. they seem to be more accepting of his study time!
I bought a new camera to replace the storm casulaty one and it is quite a bit more complicated than my old one and I am really having a hard time learning all its bells and whistles.. I took these pictures of them this afternoon and I didn't know I had it set to black and white and I have not gotten the focus down quite yet.. It has a twelve times zoom on it and sigh.. it zooms and zooms an zooms until what I think is a picture of a dogs head.. turns out to be only one of his eyelashes.. but it is a darn good image of the eyelash! lol.. it will take me a while but I will figure it out I hope.. anyway.. here is Prissy and Herbie the Hunchmaster ... the hunt for Leon.. the elusive walnut bomber of the woods at Lockie Land.
Photobucket
hey where did she go.. gotta go!
Photobucket
Herbie---- I'm okay.. I think I know what I am doing wrong.. See really I am fine.. didn't even leave a mark!
Prissy----- sigh...
Photobucket
Herbie---- Are we going squirrel huntin' now? Please ....I promise not to try to practice guy dog stuff on you when you are looking up in the tree anymore!
Prissy -----sigh...

MAY 5, 2008 CHANCE MEETINGS IN HEAVEN

MAY 5, 2008
CHANCE MEETINGS IN HEAVEN

1st woman: Hi! I'm Wanda
My husband's name was Jake...
2nd woman: Hi! My name is Sylvia,
hey, I know a guy named Jake...
Wanda: How did you die?
Sylvia: I froze to death.
Wanda: That is horrible!

Sylvia: It wasn't so bad. After I quit shaking from the cold, I began
to get warm & sleepy, and finally died a peaceful death. What about you?

Wanda: I died of a massive heart attack. I suspected that my husband
was cheating, so I came home early to catch him in the act. But instead, I
found him all by himself in the den watching TV.

Sylvia: So, what happened?
Wanda: I was so sure there was another woman there somewhere that I
started running all over the house looking.

I ran up into the attic and searched, and down into the basement. Then I
went through every closet and checked under all the beds.

I kept this up until I had looked everywhere, and finally I became so
exhausted that I just keeled over with a heart attack and died.

Sylvia: Sigh... that is just so sad!
It really is too bad that
you didn't think to look in the freezer....
we'd both still be
alive.

PRICELESS!

MAY 2, 2008 I DO BELIEVE ITS ACOMIN'!

Photobucket

I DO BELIEVE IT'S ACOMIN' !!
Photobucket
Three strangers strike up a conversation in the airport passenger lounge in El Paso, Texas, while awaiting their respective flights. One is an American Indian from Lame Deer, Montana; another is a Texas cowboy on his way to Dallas for a livestock show; and the third passenger is a fundamentalist Arab student, newly arrived in the U.S. from the Middle East.

Their discussion drifts to their diverse cultures. Soon, the two Westerners learn that the Arab is a devout, radical Muslim and the conversation falls into an uneasy lull. The cowboy leans back in his chair, crosses his boots on a magazine table, and tips his big sweat-stained hat forward over his face.
The wind outside is blowing tumbleweeds around, and the old windsock is flapping; but still no plane comes.

Finally, the American Indian clears his throat and softly he speaks, "At one time here, my people were many, but sadly, now we are few."

The Muslim student raises an eyebrow and leans forward. "Once my people were few,"he sneers,"and now we are many. Why do you suppose that is?"

The cowboy shifts his toothpick to one side of his mouth, and from the darkness beneath his Stetson says in a smooth drawl: "That's 'cause we ain't played Cowboys and Muslims yet, but I do believe it's a-comin'

When told the reason for daylight saving time the
old Indian said...
"Only a white man would believe that you could cut
a foot off the top of a blanket and sew it to the
bottom of a blanket and have a longer blanket."

APRIL 17, 2008 SPRINGTIME IN ARKANSAS... SOMETIMES IT IS NOT FLOWERS..

APRIL 17, 2008 SPRINGTIME IN ARKANSAS... SOMETIMES IT IS NOT FLOWERS..
Edit.. I have changed my type of video file to DivX format.. you can download the player from the link below the player if you can't see a player or download link there.. you can click this icon and head in the right direction...
Some people can't see it in IE and have to use Firefox.. but at least the majority of you guys can see it now!
Since none of the bloggers I use except MySpace will let me place an object tag into the blogs, I guess you guys will have to put up with my auto start videos I make.
Remember if you can't see it .. you need Internet Explorer to see it. Firefox will not work nor Opera or any of the others like Netscape.
The following video is of a timeline and photo account of what Lockie Land endured on the 9th and 10th of April 2008.
Since it is already playing .. watch it and then I will talk some more.. hehehe.. you knew I would want to talk some more huh?

No video? Get the DivX Web Player for Windows or Mac
These are not my photos of any of the damage.. reason for this being.. when the tornado sirens started going off I was in the shower of all things.. Homer was watching a video and we had no idea that the storms were that severe.
He came sliding into the bathroom yelling, " Hurry up! I hear the sirens.. that means one is on the ground or is in the air over us.. and it is like daylight outside from the lightning!"
He is jerking on boots and yelling I am starting the truck .. hurry up we need to get down to the house and fast!
We are still living in the mobile home.. I am still just stuck in limbo about moving into my Mothers house .. sigh..
Lockie, while he is doing all, this has shampoo in her eyes and is certainly not in anyway clothed to go outside into the real life version of the movie "Twister"!
I turned off the water.. shoved myself into jeans and shirt .. forget shoes don't need 'em if you can't walk anymore..
grabbed my purse.. and then as an after thought I grabbed my always ready to go backpack, I take when I go to the woods looking for rocks and flowers and sticks and stuff.. ya know communing with mother nature kind of thing..
It has emergency stuff in it .. like bandaides and chapstick.. and if I could of gotten some bologna and bread in there I would have felt better.. had to settle for a 2 liter bottle of pepsi out of the fridge and an extra pack of cigarettes instead..
Well I grabbed my digital camera case too as I was throwing in my flashlight and took a quick zip at the zipper.. I thought..
Needless to say.. the next morning .. I found the camera in the driveway.. it was soaked.. and sigh.. we had run over it when returning to the mobile home.. it is no more.. double .. triple sigh sigh sigh.. damn.. loved that camera.. gotta get a new one.. bright side.. UPGRADE! hehehe
But I digress.. when we pulled into the car port of the house.. the hail hit. I mean just like it was raining raindrops.. and then the noise that came with it was deafening.. then the wind.. OMG! the wind.. we got into the house .. straight to the hallway and into the closet known from my childhood as " The Oh Shit!" closet and shut the door.. it roared and I could hear the window glass breaking in my old bedroom and the hail banging off the sliding glass doors that lead onto a porch that is 6 ft wide with a roof over it.. yeah.. the wind was so strong it was sending it sideways to the ground.. and the size of the hailstones.. Whoa.. scares me just remembering it.
One of the television channels was hit hard.. they were in the hallway at the station still reporting and this is a link to that video if you would like to watch it..

Springtime in Arkansas.. has never been so eventful in my memory EVER!
I thank God for keeping us safe.. but I have windows to replace and a roof I am not sure about yet.. and a 1999 Mustang that is just .. sad... sigh... it truly sucks pig puddle water that is green!

APRIL 15, 2008 RALPH AND EDNA

Photobucket

RALPH AND EDNA
Ralph and Edna were both patients in a mental hospital.
One day while they were walking past the hospital swimming pool.
Ralph suddenly jumped into the deep end.
He sank to the bottom of the pool and stayed there.
Edna promptly jumped in to save him.
She swam to the bottom and
pulled him out.
When the Head Nurse Director became aware of Edna's heroic act, she immediately ordered her to be discharged from the hospital, as she now considered her to be mentally stable.
When she went to tell Edna the news she said,
'Edna, I have good news and bad news.
The good news is you're being discharged, since you were able to
rationally respond to a crisis by jumping in and saving the life of
the person you love.
I have concluded that your act displays sound mindedness.
The bad news is, Ralph hung himself in the bathroom with his
bathrobe belt right after you saved him.
I am so sorry, but he's dead.'
Edna replied,
'He didn't hang himself, I put him there to dry.
How soon can I
go home?'

This is a link to my My Space page.. I am just experiementing with how these link modules and things work on the web pages.
It is a bit much to take in.. but here at Multiply and at My Space I have the opportunity to learn how to do some web page development skills and see them in a real time application. So.. I am making a quick hookup from one site to the other so I can switch without signing in all the time!

APRIL 11, 2008 MAY I ALWAYS FIND CONTENTMENT WITHIN MYSELF..FOR MY FRIEND PEGGY LOU

APRIL 11, 2008 MAY I ALWAYS FIND CONTENTMENT WITHIN MYSELF.. FOR MY FRIEND PEGGY LOU
Photobucket
May I always keep my contentment within myself, to be aware that my greatest gift to others who spend time with me, is that I am always someone I like and respect enough to spend my time with.terri mccain 2008
For my friend Peggy Lou... I too have a best friend in my child. I too have had to let him do what I worked so hard to make happen.
I had to let him go and live somewhere without me. At times when he reached that age of trying to do without my constant presence in his life.. there were so many days.. oh.. I will admit I wished he would just grow up!
But that day.. that day when he said, "Mom, I am moving in with some people you don't know.. in a town you don't know much about, a lot of miles away from you," I thought my very reason for living had just stopped needing me.
I walked in the woods a lot.. a whole lot. The whole time I walked and cried for the separation feeling was great.. I knew this was the day I wanted for him and myself as well.
I have never come to terms with his not being right here with me. And when he got his heart broken once again recently.. it was all I could do to not make myself a nusiance.
He needs to have the time to himself with people of his own age to find out just exactly who he is.. and I can't help myself.. I have to help when there is a problem.. and it is the worst thing I could do for him.
I will cry with you Peggy Lou with you take that walk in the woods. I will be right there beside you, as well as every mother who ever did what we have to do at some point in our childs life.. we have to be on our own again. We have to learn to focus on our ownselves once again.
It is unfamilar to us.. being a mother is not something you ever stop being for the rest of your life, or her life. And that is the best part of being someones Momma. It is a gift that never ends.. and a love that no one will ever be able to match for this person you made.. After all we know them nine months longer than anyone on earth.
You are not alone Peggy Lou.. for there are millions of us out here who had to face the same thing.
Our childs shining bright face, eager with anticipation,
ready for lifes adventure to begin.. and that stray tear they shed when your close.. because they are torn.. between childhood and taking on the lifelong job of becoming a grown up. I am a firm believer that becoming a grownup is something I will never achieve.
I will always long for my momma to tell me what to do ..
So my friend Peggy Lou.. your not done yet... this growing up of ourselves and our children is never over..
As she lifts up her wings to fly.. Peggy lift yours also.. and be ready to fly with her if she needs you and .. believe me..
she will .. very much. And you need to learn that freedom of solo flight once again.. to remember the sweet feeling that comes that first day you realize.. you don't have to .. do the laundry because someone else will need clean clothes.. your can have anything to eat for dinner you would like.. if you want popcorn for supper.. go for it.. it might be the step that takes you to grown up land. ( it won't.. but I tried it anyway)
Good luck Peggy Lou's Kid and her Soldier Boy..
May you always be as much in love with life and each other as you are this moment in your life.
