APRIL 17, 2008 SPRINGTIME IN ARKANSAS... SOMETIMES IT IS NOT FLOWERS..
Edit.. I have changed my type of video file to DivX format.. you can download the player from the link below the player if you can't see a player or download link there.. you can click this icon and head in the right direction...
Some people can't see it in IE and have to use Firefox.. but at least the majority of you guys can see it now!
Since none of the bloggers I use except MySpace will let me place an object tag into the blogs, I guess you guys will have to put up with my auto start videos I make.
Remember if you can't see it .. you need Internet Explorer to see it. Firefox will not work nor Opera or any of the others like Netscape.

The following video is of a timeline and photo account of what Lockie Land endured on the 9th and 10th of April 2008.
Since it is already playing .. watch it and then I will talk some more.. hehehe.. you knew I would want to talk some more huh?

No video? Get the DivX Web Player for Windows or Mac
These are not my photos of any of the damage.. reason for this being.. when the tornado sirens started going off I was in the shower of all things.. Homer was watching a video and we had no idea that the storms were that severe.
He came sliding into the bathroom yelling, " Hurry up! I hear the sirens.. that means one is on the ground or is in the air over us.. and it is like daylight outside from the lightning!"
He is jerking on boots and yelling I am starting the truck .. hurry up we need to get down to the house and fast!
We are still living in the mobile home.. I am still just stuck in limbo about moving into my Mothers house .. sigh..
Lockie, while he is doing all, this has shampoo in her eyes and is certainly not in anyway clothed to go outside into the real life version of the movie "Twister"!
I turned off the water.. shoved myself into jeans and shirt .. forget shoes don't need 'em if you can't walk anymore..
grabbed my purse.. and then as an after thought I grabbed my always ready to go backpack, I take when I go to the woods looking for rocks and flowers and sticks and stuff.. ya know communing with mother nature kind of thing..
It has emergency stuff in it .. like bandaides and chapstick.. and if I could of gotten some bologna and bread in there I would have felt better.. had to settle for a 2 liter bottle of pepsi out of the fridge and an extra pack of cigarettes instead..
Well I grabbed my digital camera case too as I was throwing in my flashlight and took a quick zip at the zipper.. I thought..
Needless to say.. the next morning .. I found the camera in the driveway.. it was soaked.. and sigh.. we had run over it when returning to the mobile home.. it is no more.. double .. triple sigh sigh sigh.. damn.. loved that camera.. gotta get a new one.. bright side.. UPGRADE! hehehe
But I digress.. when we pulled into the car port of the house.. the hail hit. I mean just like it was raining raindrops.. and then the noise that came with it was deafening.. then the wind.. OMG! the wind.. we got into the house .. straight to the hallway and into the closet known from my childhood as " The Oh Shit!" closet and shut the door.. it roared and I could hear the window glass breaking in my old bedroom and the hail banging off the sliding glass doors that lead onto a porch that is 6 ft wide with a roof over it.. yeah.. the wind was so strong it was sending it sideways to the ground.. and the size of the hailstones.. Whoa.. scares me just remembering it.
One of the television channels was hit hard.. they were in the hallway at the station still reporting and this is a link to that video if you would like to watch it..
Springtime in Arkansas.. has never been so eventful in my memory EVER!
I thank God for keeping us safe.. but I have windows to replace and a roof I am not sure about yet.. and a 1999 Mustang that is just .. sad... sigh... it truly sucks pig puddle water that is green!

Sorry you had damage........I dont like those kinds of storms in the least and I hope we are through with them this season at least.......glad you guys are ok!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's a bit weird. My security opens up saying "so and so wants to open something .. will you allow it " I click "yes" .. yet nothing changes .. LOL
ReplyDeleteBut I bet this is an awesome entry!!!!! lol
Wow!! (OK, you got me to use &%$#@% IE) :-)) Back to Firefox for me in a minute!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that you guys are OK. Sorry about the damage and the camera, but as long as Lockie & Co are all OK, I am content.
Lockieland looks like a beautiful place. Beautiful. I know those springtime storms can be murder. They are spectacular, but this one went way beyond entertainment!
Your such a hoot! "I wanna party with you"
ReplyDeleteWOW, you got hit pretty good. So glad that you are alright. You are one tought lady there Locke. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteYou guys down south didn't get this mess and I am so glad! It is enough to make a person who thinks they are agnositic pray I tell ya!
ReplyDeleteI know duckie.. I don't understand why the other browsers don't get it together and fix the media player plugins .. firefox has one and it works everywhere except here in multiply and 360.. I don't understand why.. the bloggers except for myspace won't let me put a code into my blogs that would fix the autoplay option to one that takes clicking onto it to make it play.. why.. I have not a clue.. and I am not asking the people here at multiply why.. they get really nasty with ya if you ask why about anything here.. and yahoo.. well you know yahoo is not talking to anybody about anything.
ReplyDeleteI am the same way about firefox.. I dislike it intensely.. lol.. Thanks for switching and watching my movie.. Lockieland is a beautiful place Zen.. all over the state.. we have mountains to the north where I live and then down in the southern part of the state they raise rice and it is mostly flat.. but the feeling is the same all over the state.. one of relaxed enjoyment of just being.
ReplyDeletehehehe.. lets rock Freddie!
ReplyDeleteThanks my old and loved much friend Vinnie.. Gotta be tough if your a hillbilly.. we learn young.. don't need shoes .. if you can't walk because you took too much time putting them on and the storm moves you to Kansas without a UHaul..
ReplyDeleteYou know the weirdest thing of all.. the mobile home I evacuated for the "safer" brick house doesn't have a broken window at all.. the roof is not dented.. and it is just like it was always.. you think maybe ... My Guardian Angel didn't know I had run for the house or maybe couldn't navigate in the hail... ? Nahhhh... heheheh
ReplyDeleteRead this right after you posted it. very scary!! so glad you are alright!
ReplyDeleteI can not see pictures, only a green screen. I do hear music..
have followed the link to the news vdo.. same thing there -green screen only sound. I listened to it, several times actually.
Sorry about your camera.. that bites! but still better than Lockie being beat up!!
Sounds like this is your year for freaky weather.
Sounds like some of our weather, pretty strange for us to have snow in April much less inches of hail
ReplyDelete:) Sheri
sniff .. nope, that weren't it
ReplyDeletesigh... I give up...
ReplyDeleteRobert you need the codecs from Media Player 9 .. here is the link up for getting them sweetie..

Dani... hummm.. I think you have a graphics card that is going out on you babes... hope not..
ReplyDeletedani.. never ever give up!
ReplyDeleteI tried that, thanks, but afterwards when it wouldn't work, I checked the system requirements link, and Vista wasn't one of the operating systems that were an option for the codec downloading program.
ReplyDeletesniff
ReplyDeleteThat must have been frightening to have hail the size of golf balls! Anyone get hurt?
ReplyDeleteHow much distance between where you were and the mobile home?
