LOCKERRIDGE HALL OF FOOLISH FAME
My friend Jae Elle sent these photographs to me in an email and I just had to share this guy, and his lack of intelligence with those who read my stuff...
If you have been with me for a while you know I collect these kinds of pictures, and then I make a slide show of the latest and greatest candidate for the Lockerridge Hall Of Foolish Fame. Then we all pick the winner. I would have waited to put this guy in there, but this is just too stinking dumb for words.. had to share it today!

I have put the holder of the copyright to the pictures name on them, so if you want to use them please don't forget to give him the credit for them. Although he put them into an email and sent them out so.. he probably knows we will spread them all around the globe within an hour of his posting them huh? lol..
Now cut that out.. I am not evil.. I just sound that way.. a lot!
Grand Canyon Photographer....
He took his full dose of stupid pills that day!
This is a case of a photographer photographing another photographer. The following pictures were taken by Hans van de Vorst from the Netherlands, at the Grand Canyon, Arizona. The descriptions are his. The identity of the photographer in the photos is unknown.
I was simply stunned seeing this guy standing on this solitary rock in the Grand Canyon.
The canyon's depth is 900 meters here. The rock on the right is next to the canyon and safe.
Watching this guy on his thong sandals, with a camera and a tripod I asked myself 3 questions:
1. How did he climb that rock?
2. Why not take that sunset picture from that rock to the right, which is perfectly safe?
3. How will he get back?
After the sun set behind the canyon's horizon he packed his things (having only one hand available) and prepared himself for the jump. This took about 2 minutes. At that point he had the full attention of the crowd.
This is the point of no return.
After that, he jumped on his thong sandals...
The canyon's depth is 900 meters (3,000 feet) here.
Now you can see that the adjacent rock is higher so he tried to land lower, which is quite steep and tried to use his one hand to grab the rock.
Look carefully at the photographer. He has a camera, a tripod and also a plastic bag, all on his shoulder or in his left hand. Only his right hand is available to grab the rock and the weight of his stuff is a problem. He lands low on his flip flops, both his right hand and right foot slip away... At that moment I take this shot. He pushes his body against the rock. He waits for a few seconds, throws his stuff on the rock, climbs and walks away, presumably to a bathroom to change his shorts. I know I had to change mine and I was just watching!! lockerridge

Oh no, I'd have been calling the authorities telling them there was someone out there who needed an "I love ME" jacket really bad! That's NUTS! Thanks for sharing it!
ReplyDeleteWell I got to tell ya Crystal.. I think the guy is in need of some vitamin c or maybe a shot of milk of magnesa to get the poo out of his brain! Good grief.. I mean he was what maybe 15 or 20 ft from where it would have been safe as safe can be on the edge of that canyon and he just had to push it. Thinks he is immortal or he was hoping he might fall and die then his pictures would become Famous Art Objects worth millions of dollars cause he was too stupid to live!

I have a stinking suspicison that I know this person, who showed up in my blog from out of the wild blue broken 360, from somewhere, I know the style of their writing, haven;t put the style with the name yet though.. yet.. but they supplied a link to yet another picture...

that is more of a real photoshopped fake than any I have seen lately except my 360 chicks backgrounds! lol
The kicker is this.. according to the Flickr album of both of these photographers.. Vorst and another with the Id of .. baumer1781 ....
since it was "investigated" and then reported on.. the page views since the time these series of pictures and captions were first posted back in 2006... increased by 10's of thousands of views in a small amount of time.. the page link here to the Flickr album that contains this series of photos and captions.. has simply over 500 comments... the two album owers are publically delighted they have been found to be sleasy to say the least from snopes.com..

the amount of money these four photos has generated the two photographers and good ole.. snopes.com. is probably staggering .. but do not know this to be true.. false .. or a true unknown! lol..

He was overjoyed that he had made it to over 21,000 views in a short amount of time since having the series listed as a misrepresentation of a larger image .. sigh..
I don't know who this person was or how they got into my blog let alone open up my comments.. it takes an act of congress to get that done and then to get the comment to post is an act in futility most of the time. but they managed.. and they managed to get the other photo cooking to make this a much viewed series of photos and captions on Flickr.. by the way these web albums they have there with these photos in them.. are open to the public.. and they even give you a dowlnoader to use to save them to your computer!
Wonder how much money this new update to snopes.com will generate these two un professional photofleapods?
snopes.com is not a very reliable source of anything but a place to start your own investigation from.

ReplyDeleteLOL He sure he did Jerry.. he got a shot of a completely different location than the one in the photos in my blog or any place in that canyon I bet... compare them as to the size of the rock the guy is standing on and the one where he is laying down.
ReplyDeleteThere is no way a person could lay down completely stretched out on that rock he is on.. the one the guy sent the link to is a completely and totally different rock! What it is, is a combination of layers of photos one over the other to create this finished product.. the lighting is really really wrong! He casts no shadows but the sun is obviously shining brightly on his equipment.. the tree in front of this shot is out of place, for that photo be taken from the same location as the series. It is there to hide something ... and my best guess would be the splice marks on the other pictures beneath are being covered up by it because he could not blur or paint over the splices to make them invisible to the human eye. He did a fairly good job of it though.
The series is doctored to bring up the lighting so it will be visible in the darkness that was falling in the canyon. So the shadows and things that would take away from the main subject of the shot were removed would be my best guess.. the only thing that bothers me about the series is this..
If he could get these photos of the man doing all these things clearly enough for us to believe him, then why did he not post the one that would have been the best finish ever to the series.. the one where the man is walking away carrying his equipment with a jaunty step and a "What are you looking at " smile. He didn't say anything about running out of film.. and if he could enhance these out of darkness falling .. why not that one...
Either way it goes.. the guy is a dipstick for doing the jump with that kind of handicap of carrying photographic equipment when he could have crawled down the one rock and back up the other one without risking his life if he slipped and fell..... If we accept that the mystery commenters photo is not a photoshop chop and paste, that I feel like it is. That is what I was pointing out in the blog.. this guy is a shining candidate for the Lockerridge Hall of Foolish Fame, I still think he deserves the Golden Weinie Award.. lol
