JUNE 19, 2008 PICTURE PERFECT THEME" INDUSTRY"... LOCKERRIDGE ENTRY
JUNE 19, 2008 ~ PICTURE PERFECT THEME ~ INDUSTRY
Miss Laura's Social Club Historical District Ft. Smith, Ark. I took this picture June 18, 2008 while showing a friend some of the tourist attractions we have in Ft. Smith, Ark. This is an industry which is known as the oldest profession on earth, and they are always successful.. haven't heard of one closing it doors because of lack of customers yet! Yes, this is a bordello that was run by a lady that everyone called Miss Laura. It is dated from the early 1900's and has been placed on the national registry of historical residences and businesses. It has been restored twice once from age and deterioration and then a tornado damaged it in 1996 once again. I wish I could have shown more than one picture.. the inside is simply TOO COOL! lol.. I used a Easy Share Kodak Z712 IS camera and both Kodak and Microsoft Digital PhotoEditor Standard to capture and edit the picture. The angle that I had to stand and take the picture did not lean toward a very straight photo.. but I did the best I could.

ReplyDeleteMy Picture Perfect Theme
Fantastic take on the theme!!! LOL wish I had thought of it. Our local history has Flora and her girls working Cannery Row in the 1940s, the building still exists. The charater Dora, in John Steinbeck's book CANNERY ROW is based on the real Flora. Extra credit for your creativity and out of the box thinking!!!
