Well my friends... since my last blog .. I have been broke down on the side of the road, rescued by Homer, stood up Jerry, didn't get to dig in the dirt, besieged by storms of evil and violent intent

I'm worn out, how bout y'all?
It is the Lockie curse that has plagued me for most of my life... I have these nasty little crittersI call gremlins, who follow me around, to create chaos in an otherwise really pretty dull and predictable life. Just let me make a plan.. pick up a pencil and make a list of things to do today.. and they are all over me like white on rice!
But anyway.. Jerry was all for sightseeing for a while and so I took him to the famous Judge Issac C. Parkers courthouse and took a tour of the basement jail and then the jail they built at a later date.. and the actual courtroom itself.. all of the furnishing are reproductions I suppose.. but they sure looked the part to me if they were.
Then over to the gallows he had specially built.. they are built to hang 6 people at a time. hehehe.. He wasn't know as the Hanging Judge for nothing ya know! He was the last word in law on the border back when Oklahoma and Arkansas were filled with outlaws and hostile indians. He hired the men to find them and when they brought them in.. he listened to their pleas and the evidence and then .. strung 'em up if they were guilty.. He sentenced 136 men to be hung by the neck until dead and 2 women.. the women were never hung, because of a higher court appeal ruling.. but they did the crime and he sentenced them to the same punishment he would have a man.. He was the first supporter of equal rights for women I suppose.. he was a libber!!!
Before we went to the Park.. we stopped off at another great historical site here in my world.. Miss Laura's Social Club.. which in short was a bordello run by a lady by the name of Miss Laura.. it has since then been a restaurant and now a museum of wonderful things that were a part of life back then.. I made a slide show.. but I am also going to put them into an album uploaded here to Multiply if you would like to see them with captions as to what they are.
Jerry is back in Pennsylvania, I am still sitting waiting for the rain to quit for more than 24 hours so I can go and search for my diamond that is waiting for me.. and Iggwad is still just.. Iggwad!
IGGWADTM
Well... My family did have a Curse put on us from the Archbishop Gavin Dunbar of Glasgow Scotland. And I think that is still in effect!
ReplyDeleteMy Check engine light came on in the truck just short of getting there, but it was still ok to drive.
After I got home I found out that it was the oxygen sensors. One burned out so badly that it took the O2 computer with it. Now this will be at least a $1000 repair.
When I got there the camp ground was full and I was turned away.
I went right down the road to a small place there and they had openings so I thought great I got lucky for a change. They charged $20 a night and I paid for 6 nights, knowing that it would not be refundable but I knew my friend was coming down and we would be having a great time digging for diamonds. The camp site was nice, and I set up my tent and thought things would be good...
Well, not really, this place allowed people to have dogs, and of course every critter that moves in the night they barked at. Then as Lockie mentioned she had her own problems so I was hoping things would work out for her as I sat around all day Sunday. No biggie as everything was closed in town except the grocery store, a restaurant, and gas station.
Well I finally decided that I had to go digging on my own. After 1 hour in the open field, full sun, I was wiped out! The medication that I take causes some change in my system where the sun becomes a real problem for me. I was burned red as a lobster on my shoulders and upper arms as I had on a sleeveless shirt. It was HOT... so I drug my carcass out of there, buying some bags of dirt to go.
The next day was recooperation day. And I just sleep and sat in the truck for the AC. Then I had called Lockie and told her I was coming up her way. I wanted to meet her at the very least. After all I drove 1300 miles to see her and dig for the diamonds too. (Didn't find any diamonds by the way)
So on the road I went and wouldn't you know it... A truck threw a stone and busted my windshield.
well there goes another repair bill for $225. I still haven't got that fixed yet either.
But I did get there and I did see Lockie and had great conversation and Taco bell dinner as she said.
Yep Heart burn express ! I have a huge econo size TUMS bottle that I took with me as I know how I get with the stomach. But I do love Mexican food with the spice and flavors. So that is a price I am willing to pay. LOL
Lockie did find me a room there in Tornado city Arkansas, and it was actually reasonable in the cost too. Then the next day Lockie came back to get me and we did the sight seeing. That was great! I had a wonderful time since I really enjoy learning about places and things.
Then I was off to see my cousin in Conway Arkansas. (The first time I had ever seen her)
She is a bit older and not in good health, has had many operations and is still quite ill. So I did not want to bother her too much and only stayed over night and left the next day at noon.
The long drive back was grueling as my syndrome was saying to me that I had pushed myself way to hard. I got home and went to sleep for several hours and it took a few days just to get my head clear to where I could actually think again. But thankfully I took pictures of it all so I can remember what I did and where I went. I had also kept a little log book so I could remember things as well. When I push myself I cannot remember anything. But all in all, with the bad things happening to both of us, I am still very glad I went and got to meet my internet friend Lockie.
Lockie really is a "special" lady, she wore a hockey helmet, and rode the short bus to school. LMAO!
No I mean special as in, "wonderful" we had a very short time but it was great! I will never regret going through the bad as that was definately worth every bit of it, getting to meet her.
Sounds like quite a round for you both! Wow.......hope those gremlins go on vacation at least!
ReplyDeleteOkay you guys nobody said anything about the slideshow... humm.. could you see it.. was Kid Rock a little much for ordinary folk to get with.. honestly it was the best music I could find that fit the occasion.. Iggwad wants to be a cowboy baby! hehe
ReplyDeleteJerry.. my good friend.. I sure wish things had not worked out the way they did.. I was really looking forward to spending some time getting your thoughts on lots of things from politics to potty training!
And you my friend are just as intelligent, patient, and mild mannered gentleman that I knew to be from corresponding on the net.
I hope that your condition is met with a new drug soon that will give you more of your memory to hold onto.. I mean I know I am unforgettable.. but I don't want to take a chance!!! hehehe.. love to you from terri..
Crystal.. I stood you up too didn't I ?.. sigh.. ah well.. we only live a little while from each other and gremlins be damned.. I will get there this year of 2008!

ReplyDeletethanks Dio!!!
ReplyDeleteOK didn't see yer note till I got to work and this is what I get. In Opera (which I use when possible) all I get is a white box. No suprise as some plug-ins don't work right with Opera. Then I opened yer blog in IE and I see the player but it wont play. No surprise there either as I'm running Win 98 at work (have to because of the cad/cam program I use) and my version of IE is old.
ReplyDeleteBetter watch out fer them Yanks there lockie. Next thing ya know you'll be eating SkyLine Chilli and saying "yens" and not "you all"!
Here I sit at home and I still can't see it. I'm sure it's really cool.
ReplyDeleteSo what kinda place did ya find fer ol' Jerry?
ReplyDeleteOMG! I HAD NO IDEA IT WAS THAT EXPENSIVE JUST TO BE ABLE TO.. WELL WAIT A MINUTE.. TAKE A SHOWER.. HAVE ELECTRICITY ... BATHROOMS THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO TAKE THE GUN WITH YOU TO USE.. HUMM... MAYBE 20 DOLLARS ADAY AIN'T ALL THE AT BAD.. BUT THEN AGAIN.. THEY AIN'T PROVIDING A ROOF AND I CAN GET A MOTEL ROOM FOR THE WEEK .. FOR 250 DOLLARS... AND IT HAS A ROOF AND AN ICE MACHINE.. AND A POOL! LET ME DO THE MATH HERE..
HUMM MOTEL IS 38 DOLLARS A DAY.. CAMPSITE WITH ALL ITS NICE LITTLE ADDITIONS AND SUBTRACTIONS FROM COMFORT.. IS 20 DOLLARS A DAY IN ADVANCE.. MOTEL IS PAY AS YOU GO.. HUMMM...
YOU KNOW WHAT? IT LOOKS LIKE I JUST BOUGHT A TENT FOR NO FREAKING REASON! HEHEHEE...
NAW.. I WILL KEEP HANGING IN THERE AND AN OPENING AT THE PARK WILL COME OPEN.. THAT IS JUST 7 DOLLARS A DAY.. PAY AS YOU GO..
I have no darn idea what Multiply has done to my videos again.. I am sick and tired of it though! I have been playing with their video player and it is not too bad.. it is just that I like to stay as independent of these people over here as I can.. they scared me at the very beginning by begging a person to put their music on here and then I found out they let people download it from me without asking me if they could!!! now that is just not very nice of them is it .. kind of a like a multiply limewire type deal until the FCC got their ass about people putting copyrighted music here and they were letting people download it.. that was before they stopped people who were not even members from coming to your page and if you were set to public privacy settings.. they just downloaded like they were at a free Walmart for the day..
ReplyDeleteBut since they have stopped that from happening and I have the videos shut down to just online buddies friends and family.. sigh.. I guess I will use that one.. makes me red in the face to break down and give in to them.. but whats a girl to do?...
Oh..and where did I stash Jerry for the night when he was here? I took him over to Walmart and showed him how to hide in the landscaping stuff until the third shift came on and locked the gate... he just snoozed away on a sack of potting soil he said... hehehe.. I am lying.. hehehe..
YEPPER I could see the bottom one and it was excellent. The credits were a bit wide and you can't read it all but I wouldn't worry about that.
ReplyDeleteGREAT JOB! Good music for it too!
