A Leafs Life
I was born in the springtime
no bigger than a grub
They called me Bud
I grew so fast in the summer time
they said "No Way He Is Just A Baby!"
So they called me Shady
In autumn I really did shine
as is all leaves duty
They changed my name to Beauty
In the winter time I left home
on the winds that blew
I did roam
for some animal I became an appetizer
Now my name is simply.. fertilizer

  2. Please forgive the background of this entry .. I know it is hard to read this way.. but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get the background of my blog to be a color instead of transparent without the entire thing becoming that background color too.. so once again.. please bear with me.. I am a work in progress and I will in time figure the ways of doing what I want it to! :o)

  6. hanging in repose, waiting to be exposed, when the time is right in the bright sunlight
Then came the day, I could come out and play.....in the soft and gentle wind
I soaked up the sun, so the roots could run, and danced in the storms and the rain
the came the time, color changing sublime, as the warmth slowly faded away
I was so tired, my vesture all mired, yet my job was done
finally released, to be crunched under feet in expectation of the new season.

Um........best I could do on such short notice LOL Hugs!

  23. LOL at Dio ... he's such a card!

I rather like the seasonal name-changing - right through to the fertilizer. It's original and cleverly conceived. Well done!
