JANUARY 25, 2009 DECISIONS.... WHAT TO DO? .. WHAT TO DO?

DECISIONS....
WHAT TO DO? .. WHAT TO DO?
All of our lives ... from the moment our eyes open in the morning.. till they close at night.. we are making decisions. Small everyday decisions.. but decisions never the less. You know what I mean.. Everyday we have to decide what we want to eat... what we want to wear. What time to go to bed and what time to get up. What kind of toothpaste to use, what kind of deodorant, or dish washing liquid

Things that businesses zero in on to target advertising campaigns, in an effort to get us to buy products. Effectively giving us yet more to decide upon.
Things that won't really matter much if you make a wrong choice about it. No real damage done if you try a new deodorant and it does not work.. unless of course your on stage accepting the Nobel Peace Prize, and you have underarm salt rings, or people start to back up when you walk into the room, and pull out a paper mask for their nose, while spritzing the air with Febreze..
Then you might want to use those clues to realize.. your, "Secret, Extra Heavy Duty, Strong Enough For a Man But Made For a Woman..".
is not living up to its advertised promises., and make the decision to buy something with a name like... .
" Gorilla Secret... Made Especially For the Animal Bather at The Zoo, But You Can Use It Too."
"Conveniently Sold in Bulk, by the 55 Gallon Drum,
(not responsible for chemical burns to the armpit.)."
But there are times when you are faced with some that simply humble you before God and man, with the knowledge you are not up to the challenge...

Never the less ...
"YOUR"
the one who has to make the decision, right now! Right or wrong.. it is to be done .. immediately! There are no clues to use to help you along.. you just have to go with your gut feelings.
Those are the ones which make me feel like I'm coming down with an intestinal flu, and just ran out of Toilet Paper. You are scared to death to do anything.. cause the wrong move can cause the shit to hit the fan, and no way to clean it up. Where is Bounty or Brawny when you really really need them? There have been times when a used Handi Wipe would have been welcomed with open arms.
Those kind that influence other peoples lives are the worst ones... If I were bumbling along in life all by myself..
then it would not be so harrowing to make these big life changing decisions.. cause no one would get hurt but me if they were the wrong ones.
But that is not the way it is in my bumbling along lifes' course. So right or wrong... I have made those kinds of decisions.
like what to do when my husband passed away and faced with running a poultry farm alone with a 15 year old son for my main helper.
Like when to shut down that farm.
Like when to walk out the door of my job one day when I could not handle the stress level any longer.
Like putting my Dad into my car and putting my foot to the floor that day when he could not breathe and begged me not to let him die....
Wait for the ambulance or just haul butt, looking and praying for a cop to stop me on the way..
Not one cop..
Not one!
sigh..
I am an only child and so therefore I was never really burdened by any kind of competition for anything while growing up, so having to make a decision about things wasn't really too big an issue for me. Dad always made the kind of decisions which changed my life and it was never argued that he might be wrong. Mom and I just paddled along assuming everything would be for the better in these decisions. I have often wondered in my adult life how he pulled off the "cool as a cucumber" act when he made one of these decisions, until I asked my Mom after he had passed away.
She told me a truth that has really put me on a better path to making those kinds of decisions
She told me that he knew that no matter what he decided.. he had her to handle all the details of making it work out.
That really made a lot of sense when I remembered how he handled everything.. If he decided to buy a new car, he would find the one he wanted, come home and tell her how much the payments would be, and then SHE cut the corners and tightened up the budget belt to make it happen..
I can't understand people who want to be in the Managers or CEOs positions in a company...
They "WANT" to be the ones who have to make these spur of the moment mega decisions...

They are well paid to be under that gun I guess.. Personally.. I think I just want to have a deal like Mom and Dad did, seemed to work out pretty good for all concerned.

But for all the women like me out there bumbling along in life... wondering from day to day...
"What to Do.?. What to Do?.."
All I can say is..
" Ain't Life a Bitch?"
See what I mean.!
That is just one more decision for you to make today

Sorry bout that!

Decisions, decisions, can make life a pain in the @ss at times, I must agree. I try not to have to make too many. It makes my life easier. lol. Therefore I live simply, with just what I need.
ReplyDeleteWow, Terri........you are right......it is hard to know if you make the right decisions in life sometimes, and in my case, I'm always praying the Lord will help me work it out if I make the wrong ones, which I know I do sometimes......cant help but be human.......here's a toast of coffee my friend, to good decisions in the future!
ReplyDeleteI love your post sweetie, you might find this kinda strange but I make many of my decisions at night when I'm sleeping (un knowingly) I wake up with questions, ideas, and answers.
ReplyDeleteSo when someone says "sleep on it tonight" I can surely relate to it.
I trust my guts. If the choice I consider makes my insides squirm, it's usually the wrong choice.
ReplyDeleteLockie, for the last 13 and 1/2 years , all the decisions I have had to make have been made through inspiration. They have all been made based on the foundation of, Will someone else benefit from my decision? If that simple question is answered with a yes. Then I follow that inspiration. I know that whatever trials I may face because of my decision, I will get more inspired solutions to overcome them. Following this path, I have, as you already know, been brought into a way of living that is far more easier than any life I lived before.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a problem with decision making because I try very hard to have "failure" options. You know, the what if doesn't work out the way I have planned. Backup. I know for a fact every decision I make is flawed so I plan for backup and a backup for the backup. It can get a little complicated but I don't worry as much.
ReplyDeleteBehind every good man is a good women. Kickin him in the ass and bustin' his balls....
ReplyDeleteSounds like ya worried bout sumtin.
ReplyDeleteAlways go with your "gut" feeling! It's really helped me a lots. Hope you are OK and things work out for ya! ((huggs))
ReplyDeleteYeah it would be nice not to have many of them to make.. but sometimes those are not the options we are given sweetie.. maybe someday..
ReplyDeleteI do ask for guidance Crystal. I surely do..
ReplyDeleteyeah I know that feeling too Freddie.. the one where you wake up one morning and just know everything is going to be okay.. yeah
ReplyDeletelol... like I said.. those kind give me the intestinal flu!
ReplyDeleteMikey.. I don't worry that it is going to cause me a problem.. I worry that they will cause other people whom I love a problem.. cause I was wrong!
ReplyDeleteMaking those kinds of decisions where you have the time to make up the back up plans are never really too trying to me.. it is those kind that have to be right now.. on the spot.. without an option of having an option to change or alter it in the future that I am talking about.. like.. should I take my life savings and invest it in such and such .. the potential for gain is great if things work like they are on paper.. but you have no time to really think about it.. you are either in .. or your out.. and I usually end up out and I have kicked my ass so many times.... sigh..
ReplyDeletelol behind every good and SUCCESSFUL man.. wink!
ReplyDeleteWhen ain't I worried about something Ted? lol.... it is always something.. always! Now in this present day economic and political climate we are living in.. I have lost faith in my bank.. my reps in government.. and most especially in the stock market.. it just is all too much for me to take in and make right and good decisions about.. I am a sitting duck I feel like... I am gona get blasted out of the water feeling.. nothing I or you or anyone can do about it.. it is a fact of life and I just don't know what to do about anything right now.. I have no gut feelings except .. don't trust anyone!
ReplyDeleteHoney... life goes on no matter what.. it is pretty constant and time is unforgiving.. once a decision is made .. usually you can never take it back.. that is the queasy stomach talking to ya! lol
ReplyDeleteOkay, what brought this on? Gonna read your comments see if anyone else asked? See if you answered....
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteSometimes it's all you CAN do!
ahhh, I had this feeling a few weeks back.. you talked me through it remember.. You told me it is a waste of energy to worry about what you have no control over.. Can't do it though..
ReplyDeleteWell I get several thoughts (feelings) from what I am reading.. and I can't help.. it IS a sinking ship. And the life or death situations, Lockie they happen.. we just act on them. when they happen. we do our best the rest of the time, and question everything inbetween. That's what we are suppose to do.. I guess. There are days I go around screaming and kicking and cursing.. just feel like hands are tied.. can't get any one to understand.. can't get to those that CAN change it all.. . . . .
I hope I have said something .. something worth reading. I hope the outlook on all this has lightened it's hold on you. Love ya sister.. sigh.. now I'm gonna wonder about you all night..
Oh well... this explains IT!!
ReplyDeleteMeatloaf song comes to mind.. 'let me sleep on it, baby baby, let me sleep on it..
When I have a hard time about a decision which calls for action immediately ..... if I stop the many questions, and just ask myself if what I am about to do is morally acceptable to my beliefs ..... the problem is solved.
ReplyDeleteWhen I dither back and forth ..... then I have my doubts.
So, looking at a problem's answer through the spiritual eyes of Right or Wrong, according to the Word ..... will never mislead You ..... but this only works if Your Wants are set aside ..... and let the Word's teachings be Your Guide.
God Bless! I Love Ya!
