Hello friends, meet the newest member of the lockie and Homer household. I picked him up yesterday afternoon, and I have laughed and played more in the last 4 hours than I have since my fuzzy buddy of 14 years relationship passed on 2 years ago on January 14th of this year.
He hasn't told us what his name is yet.. he just smiles and chases me using those 3 inch long legs, on a slippery kitchen floor.. he doesn't get anywhere very fast.. but he is hell bent for leather the entire trip! lol..
I was looking in the classified ads, trying to find someone, who was selling feeder calves, and instead, there was this ad for Westies (West Highland Terrier) and the price was the same price I paid for Mike.. a long time ago!
I called, I drove and drove, and got lost, several times... But in the end result of all those hours of total awkward ignorance of that part of my state, I have a new room mate.
Homer better tow the line.. cause he is cuter!
I say that now, but in about 2 months, his teeth are going to make me think of this critter below me!!!
I wonder what will be destroyed?
We all know that it is just some kind of sheer puppy bliss to destroy things!
The more expensive or hard to replace the item is, or the wider you can strow the mess.. the better it is! lol
Look for more fun with.. umm.. whats his name in the future of this blog space..

ReplyDeleteDanny Bill.. Billy Dan.. hum.. it has possibilities.. I always let them tell me though.. He is the runt.. and the only male she had left. She had him in a pen with .. oh what the crap kind of dogs have the really long white hair.. ah ha! shitzoos or something like that! Anyway.. he was in the pen with a litter of those kinds of dogs.. and he is so tiny.. but I knew which one immediately he was.. his little ears were standing straight up and he was not howling and yapping at us .. he was just sitting there .. thinking about stuff... till I picked him up.. and he snuggle and snuggled into my sweater.. he was chilly! They are such a loving and snuggle puppy dog! I did not know how much I missed the company ole Mikey was to me.. and this little guy is a dandy! He has a sinus infection and she had him on some medicine.. but if he doesn't stop snorting by Friday.. off to the vet we go!

A WESTIE!! Yay for you... I love westies! I had a Cairn when I grew up and would love to have a westie now. He is aDORable.

ReplyDeleteI am sorry that you lost your buddy in January. We have a 13 year old recently diagnosed with diabetes. Hopefully, with proper care, he will have another good 3 years....

Already had a boxer registered under McCain's Go Jim Dandy.. also had a beautiful stud male.. I named him.. McCain's Mr. Big Bucks.. we called him.. lol.. meatball.. go figure!

A lot of people have asked me if Mike was a real dog.. they have certain sweet spots on their chest usually that if you just light scratch them, they can sit as still as a toy dog would.. and no that is not the sweet spot I was talking about OJ!

A Cairn is a westie with colored fur isn't it?.. I seem to remember reading about how the breeds were made different by a king who shot his colored westie and made a law that only white ones were to be used for hunting thereafter!.. A king with a heart.. wow!
ReplyDeleteHe is only 7 weeks old .. and I don't do any kind of forcible lining out with training a dog until they are at least 3 months old .. and I have had time to endear myself to them.. to a point where they will do anything I ask of them to please me.. I know it sounds impossible.. but if you will just give them time to understand you love them.. and won't hurt them for any reason.. you can get them to do anything you want with just a harsh tone of voice!
ReplyDeleteWhen they live with you as long as 14 years.. they are not just a pet.. they are a very important part of the family unit. My mom kept him when we went on vacation.. she called him her grand dog. He thought that Gma was about as fine as they came.. when we were planning on a visit to her.. you had to literally spell out the word Gma cause if he heard the word.. he went out of his mind with excitment .. crawling over chair back.. going and getting his leash and putting it over by the door and then coming and jumping all over me... He was a fuzzy son of mine!
